AWAM-E-HIND SOCIAL WELFARE ASSOCIATION

Inclusive | Equitable | Transformative

About Us

AWAM-E-HIND SOCIAL WELFARE ASSOCIATION is a not-for-profit organization registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, with the primary goal of promoting inclusive, equitable, and transformative social development across India. Incorporated as a private company limited by shares, the association functions strictly in accordance with its Memorandum and Articles of Association, which serve as its legal and operational charter. The association’s identity, governance, responsibilities, and mode of operation are clearly defined and regulated under Indian law.

The name "AWAM-E-HIND" itself reflects our commitment to the people of India — 'Awam' meaning people and 'Hind' representing the nation. We work towards empowering marginalized communities and individuals by addressing key areas such as education, health, women's empowerment, environment, child welfare, digital literacy, and sustainable development. Through various projects, outreach programs, and awareness campaigns, we aim to bring systemic change that uplifts the underprivileged and provides equal opportunities for all.

Our legal structure as a Section 8 company means that we are prohibited from distributing profits to our members. All funds, donations, or income generated by the association are strictly utilized for furthering the organization's objectives. This ensures complete financial transparency and accountability, which is embedded in our Articles of Association. We believe in a service-driven approach, where social impact is prioritized over monetary gain.

The association is governed by a Board of Directors, with authority to frame policies, monitor activities, and ensure that the organizational mission is achieved. The Board may consist of 2 to 12 directors at any time, with provision to add more in case of special requirements. As per our AOA, directors are not required to retire by rotation, thus allowing continuity in leadership. These directors are individuals committed to community service and come from various professional and social backgrounds, enhancing the association’s multi-dimensional approach to welfare.

Regular Board Meetings are conducted as per law, ensuring decisions are democratic and transparent. Quorum, voting rights, proxies, and committee structures are clearly defined to avoid conflict of interest and enhance collaborative decision-making. Resolutions can be passed either during meetings or through circulation, maintaining operational efficiency.

In addition to governance, our Articles allow us to accept donations, grants, and borrowings from members and external bodies. We can raise capital, invest in projects, or receive aid through legal channels. All financial records — including income, expenses, asset statements, and project-related accounts — are maintained as per Indian accounting standards and regularly audited by independent statutory auditors.

Our projects span multiple domains. In the field of education, we conduct awareness campaigns, distribute learning materials, and organize skill training for youth. For women empowerment, we run self-help initiatives, vocational training programs, and legal awareness workshops. In the health sector, we organize medical camps, hygiene awareness drives, and support for the differently-abled. During natural calamities or public crises, AWAM-E-HIND actively participates in relief distribution and community rebuilding efforts.

One of the key principles of our association is transparency. Every member, whether on the Board or staff, is expected to maintain confidentiality and act ethically. As per our Articles, the minutes of every general and board meeting are documented and signed. Detailed records of share capital, members’ registry, donations, and expenditures are maintained at the registered office and are available for authorized inspection.

The association also has provisions for alteration of capital, buy-back of shares, issue of debentures, or reduction in share capital — although these are exercised purely in accordance with the Companies Act and only for internal restructuring. No public solicitation for investments is allowed, maintaining our status as a private, nonprofit organization.

We operate under a strong code of ethics. Any officer, director, or employee associated with AWAM-E-HIND must pledge secrecy and act in the best interest of the community. Our Articles strictly prohibit the misuse of internal information, and any contract involving a director must be disclosed and approved as per law. This builds an ecosystem of trust, legality, and professionalism in all we do.

Our Annual General Meetings and Extraordinary General Meetings are conducted within timelines prescribed under the Act. All members are informed in writing in advance, and their participation is duly recorded. The organization values the voice of every member and strives for participatory governance.

The association is also authorized to create committees for specific tasks or regions. These committees work under the guidance of the Board and implement programs as per the approved mandate. For financial transactions, the Board designates specific directors or signatories to handle banking, cheques, and other instruments, ensuring complete control and traceability.

At AWAM-E-HIND, we recognize that meaningful development cannot occur in isolation. We collaborate with volunteers, donors, government departments, educational institutions, and other civil society organizations to amplify our impact. The ultimate goal is to build a society where no one is left behind, and where every individual has access to basic rights and dignity.

Our motto — "Inclusive | Equitable | Transformative" — is more than just words. It is a call to action that drives every initiative we undertake. Inclusivity ensures that our services reach all sections of society, especially the neglected. Equity emphasizes fairness and justice in resource distribution. And transformation is the outcome we aim for — lasting, sustainable change in the lives of those we serve.

AWAM-E-HIND SOCIAL WELFARE ASSOCIATION stands as a symbol of hope, dedication, and responsible action. With a sound legal foundation, committed leadership, and a heart that beats for humanity, we continue to move forward — one project, one person, and one village at a time — toward a brighter, empowered India.
